Dave fo you have the charging clip style like the one I have posted a picture of?
If so take a brass brush and clean the 5 or six small cantacts were the charging clip
Pins match up on the collar. You will see one of the contacts at one end of the collar mating area that is really dark. Clean all contacts special attention to the dark one.
Attach your charging clip. It should light up and take a charge.
This has happened to me more times that I can remember.
