The grip cap is probably a non original replacement too.
And it has cyanide case colors which weren’t originally done at Meriden.
The butt plate is probably original but not original to your gun. The border has been removed in fitting it to that stock.

Yes I wish it could tell me something too. I did find out the Rem code is from 1946.
