Default Whit1

The last of the five Whit1 guns with the deep chiseled engraving, 137720 is in the Amoskeag Auction this week. See pages 359 to 362 of The Parker Story.

Wow, I may have to make the 45 minute drive to Amoskeag for a viewing.

Why is the checkering panel at the head of the stock crooked?

That gun is hammered. Very hammered. It sure got a LOT of use. I cant imagine seeing a gun of this grade that was loved so much.

I have seen additional photos of the gun, not in the catalog and it needs a lot of help.

It is stamped “1” over the serial and “A” under the serial.

No matter the grade, they were all made to shoot.

I am disappointed to learn that Amoskeag is closed until Monday at 8 a.m.

They used to be open on Saturdays for viewing prior to the auctions.
