I agree completely with you Marty. It is hard to read about dogs being killed. I've never experienced it myself but a hunter on a property near ours killed a black lab with an arrow. His excuse was the dog was running deer. He was trespassing and my theory was the dog was hanging around his stand. I knew the dog, a fat retriever who couldn't run deer. He was very friendly, unfortunately. The dog made it home with an arrow in his gut and died on the front porch. It was a horrible thing and I still cringe when I think of it.

Nothing ever happened to the guy. If it was my dog, I would be in jail. Even though it wasn't my dog, I still harbored thoughts of revenge on the guy.
