Broke Ejectors

How big of a hassle is it to turn one of these guns into an extractor operation and avoid all these ejector issues? Is it something you can do yourself and if not is there anyone in central Missouri you fellows are aware of that is qualified to do the work? I have a 28ga. that I hunt with and save all the hulls for reloading anyway.

My thought is you should be able to disengage the hammers/springs. I had a hammer on a CE Fox that broke and I disengaged them both turning the gun into an extractor gun until I could have my hammer welded up.

Some of us, like myself, just like ejectors. I load my 28 ga. shells also and just pop them into my hand. In my opinion, its better than extracting them by hand. Ed Muderlak was totally against ejectors, I'm not sure why.

True, things can go wrong with ejectors, but I only had one Parker with ejector issues, an early GHE. Maybe I'm lucky.

It boils down to a matter of personal preference.'
