I've found this one interesting --

242087 01 Skeet Gun AK A = March, K = 1941; PL3 P = June, L = 1942, 3 = repair.jpg

It appears the original choke markings were neatly machined out. Did Remington do this sort of thing when an order came in for a Skeet Gun? Take a gun from inventory and make it into a Skeet Gun? DelGrego? Other after market conversion? Or this with the original choke markings Xed out --

242353 03 LL L = February, L = 1942.jpg

That is intriguing, and pretty confusing to say the least! Apparently skeet guns would be the only type that this would be done on?

Dave,

I would say that the top is not factory, but the bottom may be.
What makes me think this is the stamping themselves. The bottom example uses stamps that are complete and in the proper style. The top utilize individual letter stamps and are not the proper font. Just my thoughts.
