Default Production Numbers: GH 20s with Damascus Barrels

In scouting recent ads for Parker guns, I have come across two GH 20 gauge guns that have Damascus barrels -- one of 26 inches (1901), the other 28 inches (1920). In checking TPS table, I see their *projections* have only three 20 gauge GH offerings, two at 27 inches, and the other at 31. I've done a cursory search of the forum, thinking I'd seen a thread recently on 20 gauge Damascus barrels, but could not find it.

The two guns I noted both have what seem to be original length barrels that appear to have keels and rib matting with a definitive end before the barrel ends.

I'm curious what others think about the number of GH Damascus 20s. Anyone have one of the odd length guns? Why such small production numbers (there are 210 PH 20s projected with composite barrels, for comparison)? Are the odd length barrel notations perhaps a typographical error in the printing?

Any thoughts?

I have a DH 20 gauge with 28” Damascus barrels and a beautiful orphaned set of 28” Damascus barrels but I don’t know the grade this set is from. I’ll check to see if they’re from a grade 2, 3 or 4. And if I don’t have it recorded on my laptop I’ll check when I get back home in a week.

Yes.

I had these written down from another thread when I had been looking at a Damascus GH a few months ago. I believe they’re also on The Parker Story errata.

Here we go again. Errata Sheet Version 3, 6/6/01 gives us
"Page 279, Table at lower left -- "GRADE 2 HAMMERLESS GUNS WITH DAMASCUS STEEL BARRELS" -- The column with statistics for the 20 gauge is incorrect. A total of 446 hammerless doubles of 20-gauge were made with barrel lengths as follows: (length/count) - (32/3), (31/1), (30/49), (28/244), (26/145), (24/1). These changes will effect the totals in various summary tables."

Thanks so much gentlemen for taking the time to answer (even though this is obviously covering old ground). My copy of TPS has no errata sheet.
