Getting my dog

Calvin, enjoy your new hunting partner. They enrich our lives, they love us unconditionally and they add so much enjoyment to game bird hunting. Mine love to get in the truck with me for any and all errands and split a hamburger. I've been blessed with some good dogs and companions and greatly saddened when I lose them.

I see your new dog is a pointer. My old Shortstop is a pointer, doing less and hurting more and I've only been able to hunt him a little this fall. But I have a young setter who brings joy every day and a grrrrr when she digs up the flowers.

When we were relatively newly wed, Kay did me a favor and washed all the gear cause it looked a little dirty after a day afield. She treats me well

Eric: Well, we are into our 40th year of marriage plus a 3 year courtship ahead of that and pretty much together since the day we met and she still treats me well. It's a mystery, but a happy mystery for me. That said, she doesn't wash huntin' gear anymore or clean the guns or the birds. And even though I got her a nice .410/22 during the courtship phase, she has yet to use it. I guess I learned not everyone goes huntin'.
