When I pulled a big buck out of the bed of my truck and dragged it to a shady spot where it would keep overnight until I could butcher it my 8 year old female lab (the most sensitive and empathetic dog I have ever known) layed down beside the buck and laid her head on his neck. She wouldn't move from that spot for hours..... go figure
