Take Edgar's advice seriously about too much toothpick. Try not to fill the hole only enough to get a bite for the screw threads. Do not ask me how I know.

If the screws are allowed to back out and the gun is used, the screws can scratch or gall the metal that the screws contact. Keep them screwed in.

I checked for that situation lucky that did not happen.
