My shoulder still hurts from the last time I shot an ounce and an eighth ounce shell!

A 1oz. load to me now is a heavy load. My standard has been 3/4oz. for a few years now. Recoil is a distant memory.

You guys have sure gotten the message. When I accidentally mix a 1 1/8 ounce trap load into my gun, it about kills me and causes terrible flinches. Good thing I don't earn my living shooting a shotgun any more.

Only time I shoot anything above 1 oz is in the 10 bore and that's 1 1/4 oz at 1100 FPS and change. Those heavy guns don't even act like there's 1 1/4 in them.

I shot some factory 3” 12 gauge buckshot and slug loads on paper during hunting season from an A-5 Mag and a Model 12 Heavy Duck . Let’s just say you knew it when you touched them off .
