Chilled shot ,what is that small circle just forward of the doll's head ? mine has a brass screw in the same location and I thought it was a poor attempt at a rear sight ...was I wrong ?

That roughly 2 1/2" doll's head rib extension is not only soldered into place but is screwed down before soldering and that "circle" is what remains of the screw after it was filed to conform with the concave of the rib extension. It is on all Parkers with the doll's head but not evident on all of them. It will normally show up darker on refinished barrels because it is of a different steel than the rib extension and today's barrel refinishers don't know how (or haven't attempted) to eliminate the disparity in shading.
