It’s been my custom to go out each year christmas morning before first light and sit in a treestand armed of course . Very rarely have I killed anything but it’s just one of those things I like doing . Same as being out for the opening hours of archery ml and gun seasons . And finally be out for the last hours of the last day of the gun season . Wasn’t able this year to do the archery opener but got in the ml and gun opener and I think I’ll get in the final hours of the last day . But Christmas is out this year , the girl that watches my pop will be with her family and in present state I can’t leave him alone for three or four hours lord knows what he’ll think he needs to do etc . But that’s the way it is . If my wife’s over here by next Xmas I’ll be back in schedule but until then not so much LOL’s !

Craig, I'm sorry to read that you'll be missing out on your annual Christmas "hunt," but it's a good cause for that break of tradition. You are most certainly laying away some treasures, as the Good Book says, and I believe that sometimes those treasures are given us sooner rather than later. My wife and I are planning our traditional Christmas hunt (approaching 40 years), conditions permitting, so we'll salute the day for you and hope next Christmas brings good fortune and family for you.
