I found the metal clip "patent" belt with the metal buckle in the 1878 catalog. It seems that may be the last catalog where it appeared. The buckle does not seem to be identical to the one in the auction picture, but I'm sure there were more than one type. I seem to remember years ago seeing a patent metal clip belt that had the Parker name stamped on every metal clip. Maybe the one in the auction is one of those. I would request information about the markings they allude to.
