Todd, Just curious where "North" is(?). Spruce grouse are on my "game bird bucket list." I keep hoping to run into one in Northern MN.

We'll be North of Ely, in the Shellbourne Range.

Back from Canada (outside Regina) - good hunt in damp weather - on and off rain throughout. Had opportunities for Ducks Geese and Sandhills and made good on them. My 3 frame 32" DHE combined with KM #3 1 1/14 oz. really reached out when needed on big birds. The 32" VHE was deadly on ducks and a couple Canadas.
I had much fun watching my hunting friends fluster with the lodge issued jam-o-matics. Of course my Parker's were flawless - as expected. A couple pics of crane decoy spread and 3 frame in a barley field.

Great account and photos. That second photo should be the next home page picture.
