The gun belongs to me and it is an upgrade. IIRC Bill thought he knew who did it. The second set of barrels do indeed come from James Purdey and while at the Southern one year Douglas Tate looked at them and they are legit and if requested today would be more expensive than the gun itself.
The story (and it is just a story) goes that the original owner was a good client of Purdey and they made the second set of barrels for him.
All in all it's a nice gun but one that I don't shoot often enough to merit keeping it.
