buyer be informed may be more appropriate -

the seller does state the minimum wall thickness, most don't - he just doesn't tell you its dangerous, IMHO anyone buying old guns should know what they are seeing

Nor does he tell you where that measurement was taken. I would never have even considered this a possibility, but on a recent trip to Cabass Pro Shop, I asked (silly me, right?) the Gun Library salesperson if he knew the barrel wall thickness. He went through the fanciest maneuver, took one of the GH (2 bbl set) barrels out and put his digital caliper onto the muzzle and told me there was plenty of "Meat". I couldn't disagree, that last half inch of barrel was very safe.
