Almost looks like an 1894-99 Remington-esque treatment of an after-market ejector train.

Aftermarket ejectors and a "checkered all over" forend points to a special order gun, maybe ordered by a famous shooter. This gun, bad as it is, needs a PGCA letter.

I think this the proper emotibonic. I think it was defined as confused.

However it is shame that a DHE got so messed up. If a letter could track down offender then it would be worth it. Just kidding though, people make disastrous mistakes with good intentions all the time. This just happens to be lingering evidence of one.
