Ol Larry at Midway covers how to do a leather pad but not certain I like the way he did, but can't think of a better way.

I did not do the pad installation. I only did the aging process. I am not certain how the actual trimming of the leather was done. I will say that the picture does not do it any justice. It looks a lot better in person.

Leather was often just put on the face of the pad. That's what I have. A poor man's leather covered pad for a run of the mill gun in my case. If I put a completely leather covered pad on this gun it would fall apart.
