Sorry for falling in so late on this one.
One nice thing about the Fall Southern is that she's a pretty informal event. As such, we've got liberty to make it the best event we can for as many folks as possible, & not just the top guns of both Teams Parker & LC Smith. Don't get me wrong, there's a place for that, and it's in Sanford NC in the Spring!
David D refreshes my memory on the topic, and I believe he's correct. In any event, we've acknowledged previously that we're in a deficit situation regarding torch bearers going forward. Whether it's in Sanford or Georgetown, or the Vintage Cup, or any other event sanctioned or not, I'd suggest that we encourage any minor with what appears to be an interest or knack for whackin & stackin 'em to participate. If that requires them to be a member of their respective organization I'd suggest that they be sponsored by either one or both organizations for their first years membership. Not a large expenditure for either group, and it might go a long way towards bolstering the beginners interest that brought them to the table to start with.

My apologies Mr. Pellegrini, and others, I misspoke. I too read through our bylaws and found no reference to my statement. However, I now see that it is in the PGCA Policies & Procedures.

I think we have the best BOD we have ever had ,and John David is a friend and doing a great thankless job. Guys, please keep up the good work as it is greatly appreciated. David, I don't think anyone who has read your posts thought you were being critical of the PGCA or its BOD. You're a very kind and decent man and wouldn't do that.
