IF someone put together a 28ga hammer gun on a Parker frame then IMHO it isn't a true Parker. Perhaps it was a typo.

Rich,

It was me. NOT A TYPO. It is a 34" 28 ga on a #0 frame lifter action. It is a great gun and shoots like a rifle.

No its not original barrels but IMO it is a Parker.
That is all I shoot. All of my side by sides are Parkers.

I know of 3 28 gauge Parker hammerguns. Mine is the third and soon there will be a 34" 410 set up the same way.

I just like Parkers.

Now I will say I really wrestled with the idea of having one built. My original thought was Parker never made one, so I should not do it or the 410 hammer project. But then several guys I know and really trust and respect made that same comment, which stuck with me. "That if Parker were still in business, they would build you what you want".
I mulled that over for about a year and then pulled the trigger on the projects.
The two guns are both O frame short action lifter types but both with the square breach face. Both were in bad shape with unsafe barrels. In my mind I took something that was otherwise not useable and turned them into something very useable for me.
To anyone please come find me at one of these shoots. You are welcome to look the guns over and shoot them. I hope to have the 410 back in time for the Spring Southern. But if not the 34" 28 ga hammer gun will at least be there.

I'll agree to disagree John. MHO is if it didn't leave the factory then it's a custom gun and not original therefore NOT a Parker. You can't put a Porsche body on a Chevy Cruze frame and call it a Porsche.

The shoots are for vintage guns and a made up gun is not a vintage gun. I also collect pre64 M70's and you can't rebarrel a 300 H&H to 300 Weatherby and call it a pre64 it just doesn't work that way.

Who's to say how a gun left the factory. I have a 2-frame 32" 20 gauge DH that is documented in the stock books as a 12 ga GH with 30" barrels. It's in the last stock book so there is no record of it going back to Meridan for the 20 gauge barrels. Maybe the barrels were put on at the factory and maybe they weren't. Who's to say, but it's still a Parker as far as I'm concerned.
