Thank you Gentlemen for your replies. I truly did not know if they modified the frame from 1926 with the Supers to the 3 1/2 inchers.

That is what is so good about this site, ask a question and one get the information needed to make an informed decision.

In my experience, a standard under 500,000 Ithaca ten, bored out to 3 1/2" is almost impossible to sell. No one wants a whored up magnum.

I picked up a super 10 from I guy that shot 3 1/2 in. shells out of it and said" it keeps opening up every time I shoot it", I picked it up cheep and shot 2 7/8ths shell fine with it. Shoot it the way it is and you won't want for more gun, trust me
