I have had a 4 frame 10g hammer gun. And i would think 8g tubes to be a bit much for that frame.

My Grade 3 hammerless 8 bore, 30" barrel gun weighs barely ten pounds, almost exactly a pound less than a 4 frame pigeon gun. Most 4 frame pigeon guns maxed out at 11 pounds to satisfy a rule of the day.
