I just knew somebody would bring that up ... Dale Evans said she loved their animals a great deal and having them stuffed and mounted didn't seem right to her when she and Roy appeared on a religious show together just before Roy died ... And much to Dale's chagrin, Ol' Roy quipped that he wanted to be stuffed and mounted by the same taxidermist when he died ... And all Dale could manage was something like, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN ! ... AND IT'S ILLEGAL ANYWAY !

I had 2 boyhood idols growing up. Richie Ashburn, Phillies baseball player, Hall of Famer, and announcer, and Roy Rogers. So many times we hear later in life that our hero's/idols were just media creations and were lacking in their personal life. Roy and Richie were not like that, they were the real deal. Wish I would have gotten to at least shake their hand like I was able to do with Charlton Heston at the Grand American a few years ago.
