I tried it over and over with Winchester 209s. The tube holds nine, and without the tray and dropped in the tube by hand, it drops all nine flawlessly. It is unlike the new ones with the spring and chain that makes one cuss all the time. Hit the new style or bend it and it never works right again.

The old model has a piece of spring steel wire that when it contacts the base it lets one down and springs back to stop the second one. Why they thought they had to improve it I can't figure out.
