A long drive seems hardly worth it just to have a set of barrels measured. Especially when it would cost less than $50 to ship the set both ways.

Thanks, yes, good point. I thought I'd maybe be able to consolidate it into a trip I'd already be taking for other reasons. More importantly, though, I was afraid I'd be wasting all of the person's time to receive, unpack, catalog, repack, and reship it for what might turn out to be only a few minutes' inspection by qualified eyes.

I'll take this as advice that I don't need to worry so much! Thanks. I'd still be interested in anyone's insight on options closer to home, but barring that I'll start working on safe packaging.

I appreciate it.
