Maybe that's where my fiber-optic sight that I lost went. Slept through a thieving turkey's visit.

Charlie you remember that hen that came in on me when we were hunting. She didn't get that close but it seemed like she was right on top of me and eyeballing me forever. You never know what a turkey might do.

On my very first turkey hunt about 13 years ago a flock of 16 hens came within 10 - 15 feet of me and I was trembling like a fawn because the longbeard hung back at about 50 yards. My knee was resting against a 1" dia. sapling and it was quivering and shaking because of my knee. Those hens kept eyeballing me and that quivering sapling but never busted me. What an experience!! I've been 2 feet from deer and didn't shake like that.

Default Getting close to animals

It may be a hoax, but I am going to get a Hecs suit before next season. I believe there may be something to it. Heard on NPR last night that bumble bees can feel electrical impulses from plants through the fine hairs on their bodies. With as much hair as is on a turkey or deer, there may be something to it.

Anyone tried a Hecs suit?

Charlie,

It is a carbon-fiber suit that blocks your electromagnetic field so animals cannot detect you. It is supposed to allow you to get really close to game. It claims birds can even see the field. Ever had an animal come in and just know something was wrong and then haul butt? It may not have been the smell or them seeing something, but just sensing that something was there.

Well Dean, did you kill the gobbler?
Jerry thanks for the heads up on the hecs suit. Let us know what you find out. Interesting video posted in that link you shared. That stuff is very reasonably priced.
