If it is an important collection, and if you had intended to dispense with the collection, any number of reputable firearms auction houses could be contracted to send an appraiser to your location.

Default Appraisal

Hi Donna. No gun dealer is going to give you a appraisal off a list of firearms. We need to see the guns. I will not even give a ballpark guess after learning the hard way. If you go into the store and it is mostly black guns he probably does not have the knowledge or interest in the type of firearms you have. If you want a written appraisal for insurance or simply to know what you have expect to pay for it. It seems like the dealer offered to buy your guns. The dealer needs to make a profit so they won't offer you retail. If you wish to sell your firearms and are not in a hurry you will make out better consigning them. If you do go to a Auction House make sure you read the fine print and understand all the fees. Lastly going to the online auction sites and trying to guess value can be confusing to those who don't know what they have. I am sure most on this site will agree that we know of guns that have been for sale for years at inflated prices. Those guys are fishing.

Thank you. I had taken the list to the shop where most of the guns were picked up. My friend, who has a lot more knowledge than I, said the 2 Parkers need to be appraised. I do plan to sell but want an honest idea of what I should ask. I did look up DelGregario but they are a 5 hour drive.
