I've heard stories of similar breaks on Repros but never would have thought that would happen to that one. But Claro is strange stuff - it breaks wherever it feels like breaking.
At least its not a messy break - that should make for an easy repair.

I decided to repair my broken 28 ga. myself since I wanted to recut the checkering and oil finish the stock anyway. It's been more than 5 years and many hunting trips, and it's still virtually undetectable where it broke. It broke at the same spot as Pat's. You can see one broken off checkering diamond where the break ran through, right near the right hand side of this picture.

Just asking, if I had someone who really knows what they are doing, could the
Beavertail forend be fitted to the other
Parker repro that the splinter works on
but Beavertail wont. if after adjustment would it fit ok on the Original also???
all answers appreciated.
