Thanks, Dean. I'm not sure there's much to tell...she's rather pedestrian in configuration...12 gauge, 30" barrels, #2 frame, choked full and fuller, of course. Built in 1899, and meticulously maintained. Shiny, pitless bores that have never been honed and from what I can tell, no screw ever turned since she left Meriden....all finishes appear original and she locks up tight and on face...amazingly, the drop at comb isn't bad at all and I can shoot her without having to adopt the "high head" posture that most of my other vintage doubles require. The photos probably don't show it well, but she even has a dash of original case colors left, even in the exposed areas. Perhaps the most amazing aspect of this gun is that nobody wanted her! She was a bargain basement gun on gunbroker about 9 months ago. She wasn't well photographed, poorly described, and the seller obviously thought little of Damascus guns. The seller was the frustrating type who did not respond to email inquiries, so I called to inquire, which I never do. But something told me that this gun was worth the extra effort. I ended up being the only bidder at just a little more than basic shooter value for an American made side by side. And to be honest, this grouse was the first shot I fired through her. She is the highest original condition Parker in my stable. I'm the guy who for years bought the beat up guns and then spent countless hours resurrecting them. I now have a business devoted to doing just that...

...but if someone sent this gun to me for restoration, I would refuse and send her back. There is simply nothing to improve on this one; at least not in my eyes. I've bought my share of dogs over the years; this time I guess I just got lucky. Hopefully these pics will illustrate what I'm attempting to convey...
