Phil, how do the pins without heads keep the medallion in place? I have never had an original come loose, but why?

Bill, I believe the pins are peened slightly with a jewelers flatter when they are driven into pilot holes, slightly smaller than the wire.

Apparently, spell checker has never heard of the word 'peened'.
