The wood is curly cherry, lightly stained with walnut and finished with honey colored one step. This is the test version and I will remove it and do the final finish work after the shoot at Hausmanns. Yes I was surprised how well it matched the exhibition Turkish hi grade walnut. I inlaid the two sided tape for a tight wood to wood fit. Without the added comb height I needed to cover the target in order to hit it. With the riser the target sits on top the barrels visible to the shooter. I have been shooting this way for years and do very well on targets and hunting wild birds. I hunt with a few different guns and point of aim needs to be the same or very close for each gun. That way its all natural instinctive shooting and do not have to my adjust the point of aim/sight picture for each gun. SXS ohio
