I hate to admit it but I had NO INTREST what so ever in Parker hammer guns until I lucked into the Grade 2 top lever 10 gauge last summer . Now I kinda kick myself over not buying a Grade 2 top lever 12 gauge I had a chance to buy a little before I got the 10 gauge . That 12 gauge was 32" on a #2 frame if my memory serves .

I am very fortunate in having found two hammer 16's. An O frame top lever with 30" tubes, grade 3 , only one of eight made.and a lifter, grade two with 28" tubes. I shoot and treasure both. I also ave a fantastic top lever 30" grade 3 20a and just found a grade 2 30" top lever 20a but the owner will not even consider parting with it.

There just might be an easier way around this !

If I can find a grade 2 top lever 12 gauge on a #1 frame and then a set of 16 gauge barrels I could have fit to the gun . Or better yet a 12 gauge Grade 2 on a #2 frame and 16 gauge barrels that could be fit to a #2 reciever !

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If you want a fish, don't buy a cow and try sticking fins on it.

Actually, I blame the wine for screwing up one of my father's pieces of wisdom (or not). I believe he said "If you want a good cow, don't buy a fish and waste a lot of time teaching it to Moo."

Edgar should know. He owns 10 of them. Maybe more under his bed.
