I'm still in shock!! Leave it to The Nutmeg State to alter a century old tradition with a flick of the pen. Some dates are sacred, sewn into the very fabric of our lives. The third Saturday in April, like The Glorious Twelfth, is a prime example. I wonder how many thousands of CT anglers will never catch this one???

PS---Thanks Charlie Purple, I would have missed my first Opening Day in 44 years!

Actually it WAS Charlie Purple who spotted the man with a net full of squirming brookies through my office window. He watches the brook like an Osprey.
