Default RST's Remaining Non-toxic Stock

RST's web site indicates they are completely out of "non-toxic", but when I called up they sent this list of remaining stock. AKA Nice Shot.

I bought a mixed case, spending a lot more than I would like...but CA is going to ban lead for all hunting starting January 1, 2016 so I grimaced and spent the cash.

12 gauge 2 1/2" 1 oz. #7 1/2 - 4 cases
16 gauge 2 1/2" 7/8 oz. Fibre Wad, 7 1/2 - 9 boxes
20 gauge 2 3/4" 7/8 oz. #7 1/2 - 2 cases
28 gauge 2 3/4" 3/4 oz. #7 1/2 - 3 cases and 9 boxes

They did have a two cases of 2 1/2" 20's but someone recently bought both-that is $1500 for two flats of shells-the price of a good shooter!

Hmmm.... are any other states going this route in the next year or so? Looks like California is off my list for future bird hunting excursions....but perhaps that is what they want.

Not unless your state is host to the California Condor - which is a very large scavenger much like a buzzard.... or a seagull...

I would sign up for a California Condor license, even if it were a lottery type situation. The Elmer Keith auction reminds me of the days when gun writers expounded the virtues of certain rifle calibers that were pertinent for use on eagles, both Golden and Bald. Times have changed. By the way, why use expensive no-tox instead of steel.

I didn't think it safe to use steel in older double guns

i used still shot in my lc smith long range all of this duck season and i seen no damage to the gun...now my barrels are modified and modified...also shot bb shot that is still through my 8 ga with open chokes..the bores are pitted in this gun but have seen no damage...i would shoot bismuth or other shot but it is just to expensive for me....though i will not shoot still in any of my full choke guns....charlie

Maybe I missed some previous posts and for that I appologize but am I to assume that we will see no more low pressure non tox from RST ? Is nice shot a thing of the past? Say it ain't so.
