Actually it was a 1937 SAAMI suggestion that manufacturers mark the chamber length on guns.

I looked at that gun on their website and its a Mag Ten. I just feel he is asking about twice what its worth. Don't get me wrong I love mine there is nothing better for long range waterfowling in my opinion . I believe they made more mag 10s then the NID super 10s. good luck

The Ithaca Mag 10 is for 3 1/2" and the Super 10 is for 2 7/8" ?

If that's the case whats the difference between a Super 10 and any other NID 10 gauge 2 7/8" ?

I have an NID 10 from 22 or 23 I think .

I was wondering if the price on that gun was STOUT , but refrained from asking !

I think I got my idea about date of manufacture from the Double Gun Journal seriel number thingy !

I wish the gun was out of the safe , I'd send you a PM and see if you could give me a more correct date of manufacture !

I like my old Ithaca but the stock doesn't exactly fit me correctly !

I took it out a year or so ago and shot two rounds of trap with it , and it barked me pretty well on the cheekbone .

I will say however with my 1 1/4 ounce loads and the rather tight chokes that gun will reach out there and touch them !

Does very nicely also with my handloaded #3 and 000 Buck handloads .

Bowled this little guy over in the 2013/2014 season on the next to last Saturday . I was shooting #3 Buck in the right barrel and 000 in the left .

To be honest the reason I asked , Vintage Firearms in MI has a Grade 2 they say is the Magnum and the seriel number is 500,6xx but the barrel flats have no markings leading one to believe its a 3 1/2" gun .

I looked at the gun in Las Vegas. The barrel flats are marked with the serial number, the choke markings 4 and 4, the numeral 2 for grade, the mark of the Ithaca employee that proofed the gun, and 3 1/2" Chambers.

Hmmm the picture I saw of the barrel flats I wasn't able to see the 3 1/2" markings .
