Cocking indicators came in with the NID Model in 1926. They were eliminated from the Ithaca literature in 1935. I have a .410-bore NID in the low 459xxx range and it has cocking indicators --



and a 28-gauge NID No. 1 in the higher 459xxx range without --



Here is a 16-gauge 1941 vintage NID No. 4E --
