It appears that station #one on my 16 gauge reloader (MEC Grabber.) may be banging up against the primer on my Mec grabber. I also get a number of hulls with deformed rounded off brass without experiencing much handle pressure. I am reloading 2 1/2" cheddite hulle ( Once or twice shot shot RST,, RED CHEDDITE BOUGHT PRE PRimed and fired and clear cheddite from new era.) with cheddite primers. Was wondering if my primers were too tight or the brass was deformed on a previous reload. Also wonder if the hull is not being grabbed uniformly. Happens on about 3/4 of the hulls. Any thoughts? I'm thinking of also getting into the mechanism to see if there is shot deep down.. Any suggestions? Ugh.
Thanks
Eric;
Your problem is in your resizing collet. Clean, lube and make sure the tube underneath is dropping down far enough to drop the hull deep enough to resize properly. You might also want to check Shotgunworld website under shotgun reloading and go to the 3rd sticky by a guy named Curly. It's a tutorial of sorts on Mec reloaders. Good luck.
