Sounds like some hornswaggling going on, to borrow a word from Richard Hoover's article in the most recent Parker Pages

Default powder

The powder is out there, you just have to search for it. All the manufactures are making powder it just gets bought up the minute it hits the stores or in most cases the shops that get it are selling it for 500% over its usual cost. I found some Unique at a distributor out west. Don't give up!!!

Any shop selling powder at 500% over retail has no business in the powder business. They should be dealing in gold! NONE of the shops near me have added more than $5 to any size powder. But... NONE of them have shotshell powder. However, they say it's coming soon.

Seattle Skeet and Trap had 8 lbs of Red Dot for $130 a little while ago. My brother bought one and I declined because getting it to my home in Utah could be a problem.
