The very first thing you should do is to have the barrel wall thickness measured to be sure the gun is safe to shoot at all. - Presuming you have an inspection period from the seller, during which you should be able to determine its shootability.
It was likely made with 2 9/16" or 2 5/8" chambers, both of which can be used with 2 3/4" shells of the appropriate pressure. Many of us prefer to load our own or buy from a company that specialized in the manufacture of low-pressure shells for these old guns. I like RST Classic Shotshells for most of my Parkers. |

I have an appointment with a gunsmith that shoots and collects Damascus guns.

Welcome Charles,
My first Parker was a GH grade as well though it has fluid steel barrels. I love it and though I have acquired a couple of other Parkers this is still my favorite. Your gun is beautiful and should make a shooter to carry and be proud of. Dennis |

I would like to think I'm super smart but the truth is I owe a big thank you to a couple of guys on Facebook. One found it the other looked it up and made sure it came with 28" barrels. They guided me without there help I would have ended up with a Ithaca.
Thanks guys. |
