How difficult is it to remove the stock on this NID I don't care for that varnish look. I think a hand rubbed oil would look richer. Thomas

It shouldn't be that difficult. If your going to remove the varnish I would consider haveing the checkering recut. It has a very nice pattern and hand cut checkering and an oil finish would really make it shine. Just a thought.

Great gun Thomas. I love the graded Ithaca's, and the wine does not look bad either
