For years i used a similar product from Meadow Industries. Probably shot 20,000 rounds of Skeet with it on a Browning Citori. Never came loose on me. Their product allows different heights based on spacers used underneath it and the "centerline" isn't an issue.

The problem with the Meadows Industries pad is that it's held on with Velcro. When you remove the Velcro it leaves residue on the stock which has to be removed.
