I thought about you when I saw that picture. When you told me we were going to be hunting quail on horseback I thought you meant we would be shooting them from horseback. My family thought I was nuts to be hunting like that.

That is the reason for the long barrels - to get the muzzle out past the horses head. Kind of like the old camel guns of north Africa.
