Default Extractors

Forgive my lack of effort in reading the parker story in entirety, but did parker bros. fabricate there extractors with a small stepped insert containing the rim recess, and if so what year did that design change to one piece? If there is another thread covering this may I be directed to it please.

Let me rephrase this. I was looking at an extractor that seemed to have an insert in it. Is this an adapted extractor of the same frame size or had parker ever built them in that fashion.

John, it is difficult to visualize exactly what you mean... can you post a picture?

The only two-piece "extractor" that I know of is a set of ejectors.

Here is the best I can do Dean. It looks like an extractor from a common frame is used on a smaller gauge like 16 to 20.. do you concur.

Honestly, I don't see anything unusual about that extractor.

Is it for the same rim size that the circumference of the chamber rim recess would require

I think now I see what you're referencing. It looks like the recessed rim was welded into the rim recess of an extractor originally made for a larger bore.

Looked like a hell of a fit but now that I think of it I am thinking it was for lack of the proper extractor.

Is it an 0-frame?

What year was it made in?
