Timing of your original post was perfect, it will be ready this week, stopped by to check on it tonight, he needed to do just a little fine tuning on the half cock notch and fly fit.

I liked it when I found it, cased, most of the accessories, the leather for the shot bag was gone, but the brass measuring end was there and I found a nice original shot snake with an Irish tip anyway. The case also had a powder flask, a turn screw, a nipple wrench along what seems to be the original rod all in there.

Surprising modern dimensions on very solid wood that cleaned up nicely. I have had a scope down the bores and they are good, frosted, very little pitting and 45 to 50 thousands in the walls.

I have a pair of SxS caplocks . Ones a W Richards 12 gauge or so and the others is what appears to be a 10 gauge and I do not remmember the name on that one , nobody major I'm sure . It is however in very very nice shape .

My old shooting buddy who passed a month or two ago was having Al Edge build him a double barrel flinter 12 gauge or there abouts . Had Ed Rayl barrels and I forgot who made the locks . Anyway he didn't live long enough to see it finished . He really wanted to shoot a few rounds of skeet with the gun !

The gun has not been finished yet !

Bill payed him about $6500 already and the builder told the heirs that it'll take another $14,500 to getrdun !

He left all the guns to one son and the estate is in the hole for that gun so we shall see what happens !

Incidently my friend had a fowling piece Al Edge built . I watched him shoot trap and skeet singles with that one !

For a man to shoot a straight round with that thing at trap or skeet singles would be an undertaking unto itself . I dunno if I could stay focused what messing with loading that darn thing

This same fellow got me wound up in Contemporary Flintlock Longrifles a few years back and I wasted enough to buy a decent Parker hammerless 8 gauge

This is my son's Chance and Sons muzzle loader that my father bequeathed to him to be given to him on his 21st birthday.

He always wondered why I never shot it, but I did - a few times.
I then put it away for about 15 years!
The day I gave it to him he shot 9 birds with 11 shots!!
