That is an interesting rib. I wouldn't say that is common. It might be a factory mistake that got past inspectors. It appeared to me the front bead is installed off center but I can see it is an optical illusion. That's a lot of gun for $475! I love the #1 frame 12 ga. You might try lubing your firing pin and see if that solves the problem with the trigger not rebounding.
