Paul is correct. I just saw the story on the cops plotting to kill that elk. True, they need some serious discipline and will no doubt get it. Also true, the people of Boulder are total nut cases. I had to work with Boulderites sometimes when I supervised the Arapaho/Roosevelt National Forests and one of my ranger districts was in Boulder. Interesting issues to say the least. In one instance when we were doing a NEPA evaluation for a broad scale noxious weed management plan, I got numerous emails from the Boulder folks begging me to "Please don't kill my mom", and "Our bubble boy will die", etc., etc. This was because some proposed treatments included chemical control as part of an integrated pest management program. I learned that everyone within a 20 mile radius of Boulder is "chemically sensitive". I'm glad I had a Ranger to handle day to day issues!
I hear that the deceased elk will soon be imortalized with a bronze likeness. More of a shrine than a tribute I suppose. The cops will probably hang.
