does it lock up tight? If you intend to shoot it, any old gun should be checked out by someone who knows what he is doing ( not just the guy at the local gun shop).
If the barrels are good - and the wood is sound, get some short shells, at that age , the chambers are likely not 2 3/4, unless they where lengthened when that trap pad was added.
