thomas those shells are industrial shells they are made for shooting slag or built up crude in infurnaces and chimneys ...they are extremly much over loaded for a regular 8 ga shotgun thus the extra metal band on hull to keep it from being fired in a regular shotgun... but the industrial hull and empty hull can have the ring milled awayand loaded up to safe standards for a regular 8 ga shotgun..also a fella named tom armbrust has invented a 1 step die that will scrink the metal ring...thus us 8 ga reloaders have a good supply of hulls to use in our big cannons...an industrial shell should never be attempted to be fierd in a 8 ga shotgun if a person did so all he would have is a scrap gun..... charlie
