The gun james posted photos of was a developmental precursor to the 1/2 frame. It is a 1 frame gun with lightning cuts. Made 1929. The gun feels very lightweight and handles well. The blueprint drawings for the 1/2 frame from meriden is dated 1930. It also shows lightning cuts on it. Meriden would have made the frames, but not finished them. When remington later on used them, lightning cuts were not put into them. Any 1/2 frame marked Remington guns I have handled feel no different than any meriden 1 frame gun. That is because they basically are that.
